Mia Rönnmar elected new member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Letters, History and Antiquities

The Royal Swedish Academy of Letters, History and Antiquities has elected two new working members. One of them is Mia Rönnmar, Professor of Private Law at the Faculty of Law (currently on leave) and Vice-Chancellor of Malmö University. She has been elected to the Philosophical Philological Class.

Mia Rönnmar conducts research on labour law and industrial relations from a Swedish, comparative and international perspective.

Her research involves interdisciplinary and international collaboration on issues such as employment protection, collective agreements and employee participation, gender equality and discrimination, as well as the labour‑law implications of an ageing population.

About the Royal Swedish Academy of Letters, History and Antiquities

Members of the Academy come from the humanities, religious studies, legal studies and social sciences. There are around 120 working members, divided between the Historical‑Antiquarian Class and the Philosophical‑Philological Class. In addition, the Academy has honorary members, foreign members, and Swedish and foreign corresponding members. In total, the Academy comprises around 175 members. Election to the Academy is a recognition of outstanding and significant contributions to research in the humanities and social sciences, as well as to cultural heritage preservation.
