Ordering

Queuing, ordering and request books

When you need a book that is not on the shelves, search the LUBcat library catalogue to see if it is available at the Faculty of Law Library or one of the other libraries at Lund University. The catalogue shows you the book’s location and availability. In LUBcat you can:

Queuing for books out on loan

To place yourself in the queue for a book, use the “Queue for all items” button in LUBcat and select which library the book should be delivered to. In LUBcat, you can also see the number of patrons already waiting for the book. Once first in the queue you will receive the first returned copy no matter which LU library the book belongs to. You will get a notification via e-mail when the book is ready for pickup.

Ordering books in storage

Books in storage facilities can be ordered via LUBcat. On weekdays, the books are usually retrieved within 24 hours. A notification e-mail is sent out once a book is available for pick-up at the circulation desk.

Request books from other libraries at Lund University

If you need a book not available at the Faculty of Law Library, search for it in LUBcat to see if it is available at another LU library. If it is available at another LU library, the fastest way to get it is to go to that library and collect the book. You can also order books via LUBcat for delivery at the Faculty of Law Library, but expect a delay of 1–2 working days.

Old literature and rare materials are not always included in the library catalogues; contact a librarian if you cannot find what you are looking for.

Requesting books and article copies from libraries outside Lund

If you need a book or a journal article that is not available at Lund University, you can request it as an interlibrary loan.
Literature at Swedish research libraries can be found in the national library catalogue LIBRIS.

The library welcomes suggestions for acquisitions.

Collecting requested books and interlibrary loans

Ordered books and copied materials are held and picked up at the circulation desk.
