Ulf Linderfalk has in a highly competetive field been awarded a research grant of 1 million euros by the Spanish government. The grant is part of the framework of a special investment ("Programa ATRAE"). The program aims to "ensure academic excellence and the presence of cutting-edge research" in Spain. It gives Spanish universities and research institutions the opportunity to incorporate "consolidated research talent". A consolidated research talent is defined as "a person of recognized international prestige, who fulfills the criterion of being among the 10% of the most outstanding researchers in their field of specialization at a global level". The grant finances a four-year project and enables the employment of two more researchers. The project starts on 1 September 2025. The host institution will be the University of A Coruña (Galicia).
