Katarina Olsson, Professor Emerita of Civil Law at the Faculty of Law, has been awarded the Medal for Significant Deeds for her many and varied contributions to Sweden's foundations. Nine medals were awarded during the Royal Patriotic Society's annual ceremony on 21 May at the Royal Swedish House of Knights. HRH Prince Daniel presented the medals.

Katarina Olsson's contributions to the Swedish Foundation are both scientific and operational. She works with a clear international and comparative perspective, primarily in the major study of trusts. She has also dealt with the complicated area of business foundations.

- “I am very proud and honored by the appreciation shown to me by the Royal Patriotic Society,” says Katarina Olsson, who has worked with foundations in Sweden and internationally for 40 years. "The medal is a fantastic recognition of my work for the foundation world. It gives me energy and desire to continue my work. The medal is also a recognition of the importance of the foundation system. What would Sweden be without all these foundations? My guiding principle has always been that research and education should be relevant and useful outside the academic world. I am particularly pleased that my pioneering work on trusts is being recognized."
