Winners of the Swedish Competition Authority’s Essay Contest

Dalila Osmanovic and Filippa Dyrefors share the first prize for their essays on the theme of competition and public procurement in the Swedish Competition Authority’s essay contest.

Title of Filippa Dyrefors’ essay: The Legality of Self-Preferencing under Article 102 TFEU.

Jury’s motivation: “The author addresses a subject that is marked by legal and academic uncertainty in an analytical manner. The essay, which includes an excellent account of various types of potentially anti-competitive self-preferencing, is engaging and, despite its high level of complexity, easy to read.”

Title of Dalila Osmanovic’s essay: One Undertaking, Multiple Entities: The Evolving Legal Framework of Corporate Group Liability in EU Competition Law.

Jury’s motivation: “The author tackles a multifaceted issue in a methodical and competent way. A very well-written essay that explains the current legal situation with a reflective and analytical approach, presenting conclusions that are relevant both for competition law enforcement and for private damages claims.”

The prize sum is SEK 25,000 and will be shared between the winners. Xavier Groussot supervised both essays.
