Interlibrary loans

If the material that you need for your studies or research is not available at any of the libraries at Lund University, you can request an interlibrary loan through the library. This applies for students, researchers, teachers or other employees at the Faculty of Law and you need a valid library card.

Please note that we do not order material available at any of the other libraries at Lund University, even though it is currently on loan, is reference material or an e-book.

If you are a student or employee at another faculty, please contact your faculty library.

How much does it cost?

When the book is borrowed from a library in Sweden or the Nordic countries, it is free for students and employees at the Faculty of Law.

If the book is borrowed from outside the Nordic countries, the cost is SEK 150 for students. Before ordering, we always ask if the student is prepared to pay that amount. Free for researchers and teachers.
Article copies cost SEK 60/article for students, regardless of where the article is ordered from. Free for researchers and teachers.

Requesting directly through Libris

If you find a book in the national library catalogue Libris, you can request it directly.
Before ordering, you need to create an account in Libris. The library card number is the last 10 digits of your LU card number. Please use your student address since that will be used to inform you that the book has arrived.

If the book is not found in Libris or for article requests

If the book you want and for ordering article copies, please use the request form below.

How long does it take?

In general, interlibrary loans within Sweden can be picked-up within 7 to 14 days. Loans from abroad can take significantly longer. Copies are usually delivered within 2 to 5 days.

When the material has arrived, you will be notified by the email connected to your student account. For researchers or teachers, the faculty email is used.

At your LUBcat account it will show that you have an interlibrary loan to pick up.

Before the requested material has arrived, you can check the status of your order by login into the request form. Or you can contact the library.

Loan periods

For interlibrary loans, the loan period is determined by the library that lends us the book. Usually, you will get an open loan period with a guaranteed loan period of 14–21 days and you can keep the book up to 6 or 12 months if not requested.

Renewal of interlibrary loans must always go through the library.

ILL information for other libraries
