In this article, we present our edited volume, "New Directions in Digitalisation: Perspectives from EU Competition Law and the Charter of Fundamental Rights." We examine the EU's recent regulatory initiatives, particularly the Digital Markets Act (DMA), and their implications for competition law and fundamental rights. The article provides an analysis of how the DMA aims to address market imbalances caused by digital 'gatekeepers' and explores the challenges of balancing regulatory enforcement with the protection of fundamental rights.
