Increasingly, the UN human rights system is engaging on matters relating to sustainability, including promoting and protecting the rights of environmental defenders, and identifying rights-based approaches to climate finance, biodiversity and conservation finance, and a just transition. What can we learn from these developments, and what are the connections between human rights and sustainable development?
