Yana Litins’ka holds a doctoral degree in medical law (Uppsala University, 2018). Her doctoral thesis concerns the capacity assessments to decide on medical treatment within national and international human rights law. From 2020 to 2022, she worked at Lund University as a postdoctoral fellow on a research project on asylum seekers’ access to health care. Currently, Yana is a Senior Lecturer in Public Law at Lund University, working on an interdisciplinary research project, PREPARE - Improved preparedness for future pandemics and other health crises through large-scale disease surveillance.
Yana’s research focuses on international human rights in health and their implementation in national constitutional and administrative law. She also has a particular interest in comparative and interdisciplinary research methods. Yana’s work focuses mainly on vulnerable groups such as persons with disabilities, migrants and older people.
She is responsible for distance learning in medical law and is a member of the steering committee of the Centre for Ageing and Supportive Environments.
