Marja-Liisa Öberg at the Faculty of Law has been awarded funding from the Ragnar Söderberg Foundation to organise the international conference Shifting Power in Europe: Gender, Law and Authority in EU High Politics at the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences in 2027.

Marja-Liisa Öberg, Associate Professor of EU Law, will organise the conference together with Associate Professor Elsa Hedling (European Studies, Lund University). Her research examines how boundaries are drawn, transformed and challenged in the process of European integration. The conference explores how power and influence within the EU are changing, with a particular focus on women and countries outside the EU’s traditional centres of power.

The grant is awarded within the Ragnar Söderberg Foundation’s programme for early-career researchers, which gives outstanding researchers the opportunity to organise international scientific conferences in Sweden.
