The Faculty of Law is releasing a new podcast about crime and punishment: ‘Kriminalsamtal - a slightly different podcast about crime and punishment’. The podcast is aimed at anyone who wants to know more about the criminal justice system and the thoughts and ideas behind criminal law.

At a time when criminal policy is very loud and dominant in the public debate, there is reason to take a step back and reflect on the foundations of the punishment system and the criminal justice process. We discuss in a probing and reflective way the role of criminal law in society and the legal conditions and limitations of criminal law says Tova Bennet and Sverker Jönsson.

The editorial team consists of Tova Bennet and Sverker Jönsson, both teachers and researchers in criminal law at the Faculty of Law at Lund University.  Audio editing by Christian Svensson.

First up are the sections (in Swedish) ‘Can we punish too harshly?’ and ‘Young and stupid or young and convicted?’.

The first episode of Crime Talk will be released on Friday 13 June via the major podcast networks (iTunes, Acast, Spotify). New episodes will be released every three weeks during the summer.
